The Egypt Meeting: Without Turkey, Peace in the Middle East Unlikely

Turkey’s increasing influence in the Middle East is discussed in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.

Ayn Shams University Center of Middle East and Future Studies and Abant Platform’s joint conference on ‘Egypt, Turkey and Stability in the Middle East' hosted Egypt’s distinguished members of academia, diplomats, and students.

The conference was divided into four sessions and among the topics that have been discussed were the Turkish-Arabic relations, Turkey’s Israel policy, Ergenekon and the democratization process in Turkey, the problem of PKK, Turkey’s Middle East initiatives, and the education system of Turkey.

Turkey’s distinguished intellectulas Ali Bulaç, Prof. Semir Salha, Prof. Mustafa Demir, Dr. Murat Çemrek, Prof. Ergun Yıldırım, and Egyptian experts on Turkey Prof. Ibrahim Bayyumi, Prof. Rafet Shayh, Prof. Pakinam Sharkawy, Prof. Cemal Hagar, and Prof. Naci Hudhud were among the participants.
